Holiday Party Sips: Drink Recipes That Will Leave Your Guests Wanting More!

Who doesn’t love fun holiday parties? Kick off the holiday season the right way by hosting your very own holiday party for friends, family and/or colleagues. Now, you can’t just throw any kind of holiday shindig – you have to impress your guests with one of these tasty drinks! Take a look at these delicious drink recipes that are easy to make and hard to put down.

Caramel Apple Mimosas

(Servings: 4-6)

  • 2 tbsp. caramel
  • 2 tbsp. cinnamon sugar
  • 1 c. apple cider
  • 8 oz. caramel vodka
  • 1 bottle champagne
  • Apple slices, for garnish

Pour caramel sauce in a small dish. In another small dish, pour cinnamon sugar. Dip champagne flutes into caramel to rim glass, then dip in cinnamon sugar. Pour apple cider, caramel vodka and top with champagne into flutes. Garnish with an apple slice.

Gingerbread Hot Chocolate 

(Servings: 6-8)

  • 6 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 3 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 7 ounces good quality milk chocolate, chopped
  • Whipped cream, optional
  • Mini marshmallows, optional

Combine the milk, cocoa powder, sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon nutmeg and allspice in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar, cocoa powder and spices are dissolved and the milk is steaming, about 5 minutes. Do not let the mixture come to a boil. Whisk in the chopped chocolate a little at a time until smooth. Divide among 6 to 8 mugs, and garnish with whipped cream and mini marshmallows.

Holiday Party Punch

(Servings: 8-10)

  • 4 cups cranberry juice
  • 1 bottle sparkling cider
  • 1 liter ginger ale
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, about 2 lemons
  • 12 ounces vodka, optional
  • 1 orange, sliced, optional

Mix all of the liquid ingredients in a large punch bowl over ice. Add oranges to the top of the punch for garnish.

Cranberry Sparkler

(Servings: 1)

  • 1 1/2 ounces blackberry puree
  • 2 ounces white cranberry juice
  • 2 to 3 ounces sparkling water
  • Mint leaves, optional

Combine blackberry puree and cranberry juice in champagne flutes. Add sparkling water to each. Garnish flutes with mint.

Santa’s Sleigh Cocktail

(Servings: 4)

  • White sugar crystals, preferably coarse
  • 2 cups store-bought eggnog, chilled
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 4 cinnamon sticks, optional

Dampen the rims of 4 martini glasses and then line the rims with sugar crystals. Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour mixture into martini glasses and garnish with whole cinnamon sticks.

Apple-pie Spiced Cider 

(Serves 6)

  • 1 1/4 quarts apple cider
  • 3 tablespoons firmly packed light-brown sugar
  • 7 whole cinnamon sticks, (6 sticks for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Ground cloves
  • Freshly grated nutmeg

In a medium saucepan, whisk together cider, sugar, spices, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Remove from heat; pour in brandy, if desired. Strain into a pitcher; discard solids. Serve in mugs, garnished with cinnamon sticks.
